The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a nationally recognised programme of activities that is proven to develop essential life skills which are vital for the development of young people. There are three progressive levels of programme which when successfully completed lead to either a BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD award. Every participant on the DofE has to take part in some form of expedition. This has provided the opportunity for many young people to find their way through unfamiliar country and to fulfil their spirit of adventure.
As an Approved Activity Provider for The Duke of Edinburgh's Expedition section we can provide expeditions to schools, groups and individuals.
We can organise walking, canoeing or cycling expeditions for all levels of the awards and take participants from trainign through to a qualified expedition.
We have locations throughout the UK, from the South West to the Highlands of Scotland.
As an approved provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Award X Adventure Activities can deliver an expedition for your students via walking, Canoeing or Cycling. We orgnaise the expedition in consultation with the school and students and provide much of the equipment required.
We can offer the students the opportunity to walk, canoe or cycle their expedition and pride ourselves on the positive feedback recieved from students, parents and teaching staff.
We can package the whole expedition for you; from training to completion; anywhere
within the UK.
Open expeditions enable independent participants, those who may have missed their own group’s expedition or those unable to form a viable team to complete a practice and / or qualifying expedition.
This format allows participants to meet and make new freinds along the journey.
You don’t have to be completely independent, join with a friend or friends and complete which ever part of the expdition that suits you
We have set dates and locations, please contact us for details using the email link below, we can then send further information.
Completing the award in a canoe is becoming more and more popular, as it allows participants to learn a new skill, gain water confidence and reduces the amount of stress on knees and joints when carrying a bag. That is not to say canoeing is an easy option; far from it, but it does allow participants that can’t carry a bag the opportunity to complete all levels of the award.
We can organise a Bronze, Silver or Gold expedition in locations throughout the UK.
We deliver walking expeditions throughout the uk; from the South Downs to Scotland. Walking is still by far the most popular method of completing the expedition section of the award.
Here at X Adventure Activities we can help with every aspect of completing the walk; including equipment hire, route cards and all training delivered by an experienced and freindly staff team.
New for 2018
If you like the sound of both forms of journeying; walking and canoeing, why not combine the two and complete an expedition that uses both. This is a new format for us at X Adventure Activities and we would love to hear your ideas, so please contact us for a chat.
The combination of both canoeing and walking would allow then teams to learn double the skills and provide you with a unique and challenging expedition.
